The Institute to train TVET Trainers opens at Rwanda Polytechnic -IPRC Kigali campus

The Rt.Hon. Eduard Ngirente, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Rwanda on 26 April 2018 inaugurated the Rwanda TVET Trainer Institute (RTTI) at Kicukiro District in presence of Hon. Mikyung LEE, the President Korea International cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The centre was constructed in partnership with the Republic of Korea through the Korea international cooperation agency (KOICA) at USD 6.05 million. 

In his remarks while inaugurating the centre that will accommodate RTTI, Prime Minister said that Technical Vocational Education Training is one of the Government priorities in the Rwanda’s National Transformation Strategy that is under implementation.

He added that the said strategy aims to position Rwanda as a globally competitive knowledge-based economy and TVET has been identified as one of the top priorities.

The inaugurated building has a multipurpose hall with the capacity of 120 persons, 4 group discussion rooms each with the capacity of 30 persons, library and a computer laboratory.

KOICA has been the long-standing development partner in the technical and vocational education and training -TVET sector, from 2010 where they supported the establishment of Integrated Polytechnic Reginal Center -Kigali now Integrated Polytechnic Reginal College –Kigali (IPRC-KIGALI).
